When choosing a freestanding barre, keep in mind that they are designed to tip when too much lateral / sideways force is applied. This assists in developing the user's core balance. Freestanding barres are not rigid, therefore; should not be used as a crutch.
If your routine is more vigorous or requires pushing and pulling on the barre, the ideal solution is a permanent wall or floor mounted barre.
